Water on MacBook Pro M2 (2022)

Hi everyone,

I recently spilled a small amount of water on my 13-inch MacBook Pro, M2, 2022. The water got onto the vents and a little bit on the power button. I quickly wiped it down and turned it upside down for a few minutes, and then turned it back on. It seems to be working fine, but I'm worried that there may be some hidden damage.

I've seen some advice online that says to let the MacBook sit for a day or two after a water spill, but I'm not sure if that's necessary. In the videos I've seen, it seems like the MacBook was much more soaked than mine was.

What do you think? Is there anything else I should do to make sure my MacBook is okay? I would really appreciate any advice you can offer.

If you're not sure about your response, why are you reassuring me?
I've clarified the location of the water leak (see the picture, the red arrow indicates the location), and it's slightly above the button. Do you anticipate any future damage?

Sounds like you dodged a bullet.

It is impossible to speculate on "a small amount of water"...

If you have no issue I would not be concerned— if there is water damage the entire board gets replaced, either now or later; if it where me I would wait and see.

Check your coverage, AppleCare+ covers a large portion of accidental damage ( in the USA anyway, chk your region)
