My MBPro battery used to show battery usage from 100% to down around 80% after usage while plugged in. For the past week, the plug always shows a green light (after use it used to show an orange light), and battery a 100%, it doesn't go down? is this a new normal or should I worry?

It can take 3 weeks to register after any change.. I would not worry about it.
The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only—this is how you help optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.
