Gmail vs Mail - can I delete one w/o affecting the other
These apps are using over a gig of storage each. I’d like to delete one of them but don’t want my emails to be lost. Is it safe to delete the Mail app?

Deleting the native Mail App from your iPad will delete locally stored mail data for any accounts associated with the Mail App.
The Gmail App maintains its own independent cached copies of your Google Mail.
Unless using POP3 mailboxes, most mail providers keep all mail on their Mail Servers until deleted by the User; local copies are downloaded by mail clients - keeping all mail accessible by other mail clients/devices.
