Macbook screen constantly freezing (solution)

I noticed that when I was using meeting apps that use my camera (Google Meet and mainly Zoom) my macbook screen would constantly freeze for many seconds, mainly when I would move my computer screen up and down. What I found out is that the function “Automatically adjust brightness” was the issue. Everytime I would move my screen, the computer would try to adjust brightness and completely freeze everything in the process. As soon as I turned this option off, everything came back to normal and my mac hasn’t frozen ever since. So, if you guys are having a similar issue, try turning this function off in system settings > displays.

I hope it helps!!

MacBook Air, macOS 14.4
