Music not responding to EQ Settings

I am using a Mac Book Pro, M1 Max (32 GB, 1 TB) model. I am running the latest software update. I always use the EQ in the music app, and have its dedicated window open at all times. This issue has never happened before. It only started occurring about two weeks ago. The issue is as follows, for whatever reason, the songs that play after about 8-10 songs stop playing according to the EQ Settings. No matter what I do, the EQ Settings are not followed again after these initial 8-10 songs. I have tried ticking the box on/off, as well as assigning the EQ to the songs manually via right-clicking>get info>options>equaliser. Only quitting and reopening the application seems to work. I listen to a lot of music throughout the day, thus it gets really time-consuming and frustrating to manually close and reopen the application so many times. Any ideas on how to work around/resolve this issue?
