Can I Still use an ipad2, can't set up date

I have an iPAD2 and tried to use it as a second monitor for my Macbook Air 2017. Can I factory restate the Ipad?

sure you can

Return iPad settings to their defaults - Apple Support

but the old ipad 2g will never work as sidecar display for a mac though
