Screen Flicker on External Monitor Mac mini M2 Pro
I have a Lenovo p40w-20 connected the my M2 Pro Mac mini that, just out of nowhere, started flickering today. This is not the first time this has happened as when I first got it, it did the same thing. At that time, it was a macOS issue and I was able to fix it by deleting all the duplicate Color Profiles as listed in this discussion:
Screen Flickers on MacBook while using CLion
It had been working fine for months but just started this same flickering again.
I have checked all the locations where Color Profiles are located and there are no duplicates. Here are all the locations where I have checked for duplicates:
/Library/ColorSync/Profiles (and all other folders within the folder)
/Users/USERNAME/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
/System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
I am on macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 and a Mac mini M2 Pro. I am using the same thunderbolt 4 cable that I was using when I first got the computer.
Troubleshooting I've already tried:
- Checking for any duplicate color profiles as listed above
- Changing Color Profiles
- Deleting the P40w-20 color profile (which is automatically added when the monitor is plugged in)
- Unplugging the thunderbolt cable
- Tying a different cable (Usb-c to DisplayPort 1.4)
- Restarting the Mac
- Restarting the monitor
- Shutting down the Mac and turning it back on
- Unplugging the monitor
- Unplugging the Mac
Any thoughts?
