Sent emails going directly to Trash???

Starting a month ago, some emails I send are going straight to Trash. They don't even appear in Sent. Zero idea what's going on.

I use Gmail, but entirely through Apple Mail and iOS. If I send the email from Gmail itself, I do see the message briefly appears in Sent (like 0.5 seconds)...then immediately disappears and goes to Trash.

*If I send an email to myself, I literally never receive it. But...I noticed that messages sent to others -- while they sometimes don't even display in Sent -- are actually getting sent: People are replying...but the entire thread is now in Trash.

I thought maybe I added my own email address to a spam filter or rule, but I'm not seeing in either Apple Mail or Gmail filters.

(One side note: I saw in Gmail I had both POP and IMAP enabled. I "think" I really only needed IMAP enabled and thus disabled POP, but this was long after the issue above started.)

Any thoughts? This is really causing issues. Thanks

One possibility to explore is whether there might be a filter or rule set up either in Gmail or in your Apple Mail settings that is automatically moving these emails to Trash. Even if you haven't intentionally set up such a rule, it's worth checking both your Gmail settings and your Apple Mail settings to see if there are any filters or rules that could be causing this behavior.

Additionally, the fact that emails sent to yourself are not being received, and emails sent to others are being received but ending up in Trash, suggests that there may be a more complex issue at play here. It's possible that there could be a configuration issue with your email account settings that is causing this behavior.

Given the complexity of the issue and the potential involvement of both Gmail and Apple Mail, it may be beneficial to reach out to both Google Support and Official Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide personalized support and may be able to offer additional insights or troubleshooting steps specific to your situation.

Lastly, if you're comfortable doing so, you could consider temporarily disabling any filters or rules in both Gmail and Apple Mail to see if that resolves the issue. This can help determine whether the behavior is being caused by a specific rule or filter configuration.
