MacBook files and folders disappeared

All of my files & folders on my MacBook disappeared overnight. I didn’t change any settings and everything was normal yesterday. I finally found everything in iCloud Drive. I don’t know how this happened bc I didn’t change any settings. I want to reverse this. How can I get my hundreds of folders and files back on my Mac stored locally? I don’t want them in iCloud!
