Why am I unable to import the photos from my iPod into my MacBook Air?
Photos says there are no photos on my ipod to import, but there are. Why doesn't it recognize them?

One likely explanation would be that the photos in question were pushed/synced onto the iPod by iTunes (or, more recently, Finder) from a computer, as opposed to being taken with a camera built into the iPod (depending on the model).
Nope. They're pics I took on the iPod. This has always worked until just recently (last 2 weeks). Both the iPod and my MBA have the latest OS. Photos just indicates there is nothing to import (which is not the case). I can use Airdrop, but that's actually fussier.
