Clamshell sart up OS 9.2 showing bomb icon

I've powered up my 2000 iBook Clamshell ⭐️. When I turn it on, it chimes but then shows a notification - in a box over the Mac OS 9.2 box (also saying Extensions Off) that says;

Sorry a system error occurred.

file map may be inconsistent

To temporarily turn off extensions, restart and

hold down the shift key.

I did this (several times) and it then says;

Sorry a system error occurred.

type 102

To temporarily turn off extensions, restart and

hold down shift key.

Which I have also done several times and I appear to be in a loop 😳.

I've also been reading through forums that advise to boot up holding down the X key, holding down the C key - but nothing has worked so far.

I have the original orange iBook Software restore disk and the orange iBook Software install disc but I'm concerned that these may erase or delete any old content on my clamshell? I'm hoping to access any old information or photos still on it.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm a computer novice by the way 😐 🙏🏻.
