Since the latest Pages 14.0 update , I no longer have permissions in locked documents. How to fix it?

Since the latest Pages 14.0 update on my MacBook running Sonoma 14.4.1, I no longer have permissions for all my locked Pages. Even though it says I have "read and write" permissions. It will say I can duplicate it and edit the duplicate but that is unreasonable to do that for all of my locked ones (and I have many).

What happened? Is it a setting? How can I get the problem fixed without having to duplicate, rename and delete the original (which as of right now, it is the only option?

On a given Pages document in the Finder, click once to select it and then press option+cmd+i to open an information panel. Is the Locked box checked? If it is, deselect it so you can edit the current document and not be forced to duplicate it. The locked file status takes priority over your access permissions.

You are welcome. The update to Pages v14 would not set this Lock state on your Pages documents. I am using it on Sonoma 14.4.1 and none of my existing (or new) Pages documents have a Lock status set. There is no setting in Pages to apply a Lock state on saved documents.

If you have a bunch of Pages documents with their Lock status on, a very short AppleScript can loop through them in the Finder and disable the Lock.
