I am unable to log into my iCloud account

Subject: Assistance Needed with iCloud Account Lock Issue on iPhone XR


I am reaching out to seek assistance with a concerning issue I am facing with my iPhone XR. Recently, I encountered a problem where my device became locked due to an Apple ID issue within the iCloud system, preventing me from accessing my account or resetting the phone.


What happened is that

I have attempted basic troubleshooting steps such as force restarting the device and entering recovery mode without success. As a result, I am unable to regain control of my iPhone XR and access my iCloud account.


I kindly request your guidance and support in resolving this matter promptly. Any assistance or instructions you can provide to help unlock my device and regain access to my original iCloud account would be greatly appreciated.

Since I have not seen a solution to how to remove an Apple ID from a device after it has been deleted, the only thing I can suggest is to contact Apple directly and clearly state that the Apple ID has been deleted and you are unable to log out of your device if that is what happened. That will avoid other troubleshooting steps that also lead to the issue you have described.

I do wonder what you were intending to do when you decided to delete your Apple ID or the circumstances how that came about. Were you the owner of the Apple ID that was deleted?

Are you able to sign in at appleid.apple.com?


Do you know if the Apple ID was deleted using the steps in this Support Article?

How to delete your Apple ID account - Apple Support


If it was deleted, then the relevant portion of that Support Article may apply:

  • Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted.


Not sure how the "Cannot Reset Password" message is related.
