Hello, and thank you for reaching out help in Apple Community.

The reason your screen cracked might be a hardware issue. It may happen when you change the angle of the hinge too hard on it, or maybe exceed the angle limits.

I have a similar issue with you, but the screen did not crack. Instead, the hinge now makes a strange, cracking noise.

Since this is not a simple problem that could be fixed by softwares, please take your Mac to Apple Support. If you have a coverage, you could fix it for free. (Did 1 year pass since you bought your Mac? Most of the apple devices have a 1 year free coverage for default.)

Hello, and thank you for reaching out in Apple Community

Do you mean you bought your Mac in 2024 January? Then yes.

However, the coverage might matter according to where you bought it, and etc. Did you buy your Mac from the Apple official website?

To be more precise for the coverage of your Mac, please open system settings, locate to "General", and go to "AppleCare and Warranty". Click on your device and check for coverage.

Also, just in case, please check out the links in the previous replies for more information (Such as Apple won't fix your device's is hardware modified, etc.)

Thanks
