I've been working on a project and voice isolation worked. While I was cleaning up random audio problems when FCPX crashed. When I brought it back up the project was one clip that had been truncated and voice isolation could no longer be selected. I have reinstalled Final Cut and created a new project. Voice isolation cannot be selected.

Delete the preferences whenever there is a crash. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting the application and click Delete Preferences. The application will start in a default state, and open an “Untitled” library.
Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.
Voice isolation cannot be selected
Please do what Luis said and then show me the inspector screenshot.
Delete render files, reboot the Mac.
