I am unable to receive Verification codes sent to my phone number on iPhone

I wish to receive authentication codes on my I phone I message but in send and receive my only option is my email address. How do I enable my phone number?

I am unable to receive Verification codes sent to my phone number when I only have internet access, how can I receive these in I message.
