file not copying correctly

I have created an updated pages file on my desktop. When I copy it to a designated folder within iCloud, the old version (which was deleted) reappears.

In the attached video that demonstrates the problem, the current document date is 04-22-24. When I copy the file to the correct folder, the old document version 05-26-23 reappears.
