I have an Apple TV and I would like to watch movies with my AirPod generation threes in, but also my family watches the movie from the speakers, is it possible to have the AirPods audio and the tv’s audio play at the same time? If you’re wondering why I want to, it’s so I can watch movies with surround sound on.

No, connecting headphones or earbuds would disable room speakers.

I use Live Listen. The noise cancellation feature eliminates the echo effect. It would be better if apple would enable to do it directly.
