does my imac M1 power adapter need to be visable to the computer
I would like to move the power adapter to the under side of the desk to clean up the looks

Not sure what you mean by "be visible to the computer". The computer does not see its own power adapter.
The big white block can be anywhere you want it to be.
The connection to the computer is made by the cable coming out of it. As long as it can reach from wherever you put it to the computer without creasing or bending the cable too much, it should perfectly fine.
