What information is shared between users in each other's shared profiles?

When sharing information (I guess via Family Sharing), what is the extend of information shared?

For instance, is the following ever shared by people with whom you're sharing?

  1. Phone call log (numbers called and those who called you)
  2. Text message log (numbers to which and from which you sent or received text messages)
  3. The context of text messages
  4. Email messages and their content
  5. Other

I've been reading the "Personal Safety User Guide" but I'm not sure these questions are answered. If so, then I missed it.

A related question is: Is Safety Check going to show me all categories of sharing and all people who would have access to the above-listed information?

Family Sharing shares no information directly beyond your email address as it appears for your Apple ID to add it to the Family Group.

You have to manually choose to share something with other people for it to be shared and appear under Manage Sharing & Access in the Safety Check and most things you can share are not related to Family Sharing at all.

Sharing sources are as follows:

Health, Photos, Calendar, Home, Maps, Fitness, Messages, Find My, Passwords and Notes.

You must manually choose to share something for it to actually be shared. Nothing is shared automatically.

There is no such thing as a Shared Profile.

No.

No

3. The context of text messages

No

4. Email messages and their content

No

5. Other

Not sure what that would be, but in general no.

Sharing sources are as follows:

Health, Photos, Calendar, Home, Maps, Fitness, Messages, Find My, Passwords and Notes. That is what will apear in safety check if something was shared.

It will also list apps that you have shared any information or have granted access to features such as location, or bluetooth to.

OK, thanks.

The reason I'm trying to get into the nitty-gritty details is that a woman friend of mine is afraid she is being stalked by her ex-husband. She asked me this detail, but I didn't know and didn't want to advise her incorrectly.

Based on your answer, I suppose that someone tracking her could know her location if she has location services turned on. I'm thinking, based on your response, that her location might be the greatest vulnerability.

Tracking her would involve direct access to her Apple ID or for her to have actively shared her location with him.

Best thing she can do is, to change her Apple ID password, and make sure her ex husband does not appear in the Safety Check at all.

AirTags will issue a notification and make sound when moving with Apple devices they are not directly paired to, so they make terrible surveillance options and it is done by design.

Note that if you are sharing an Apple ID rather than doing proper Family sharing, 1, 2 and 5 will be shared. And possibly 4. I don't know what 3 means.

I did tell her to check for the presence of any Apple Air Tags attached to her car, clothing items, etc....

I'm not sure how else to advise her. I'm not sure her local police department would do a scan for Air Tags or other possible surveillance equipment.
