Erosion on the connections on my iPad from the Apple Keyboard

I bought my IPad Pro 12.9 (5th gen) and Apple Keyboard Case a few years ago. Id never removed the iPad from its keyboard case since i bought it, but as Im planning on selling this ‘combo’ i thought it best if i gave it all a thorough ‘makeover’ and removed the case in order to polish the back of the iPad etc. it was only then that i noticed a small but significant and unsightly hole/dent in the middle of the iPad i.e where the magnets secure the case to the iPad. I checked the case and discovered the magnets ( or metal elements on them; whatever they’re called) had somehow torn/eroded the material of the case and made contact with the back of the iPad causing the damage. I can only assume that this is a ‘design flaw’ and wondered if any other owners of an iPad Pro 12.9 and keyboard case have had a similar experience and what action they took; if any?

Normal wear and tear, really? It’s normal for magnets on the case to ‘wear away’ the fabric covering them and cause a hole in the back of my iPad? You don’t think this is a design flaw? And it’s not as if i was repeatedly removing the case; it’s only been removed once since I purchased it. Now, If we were talking about some cheap bit of tech, maybe. But this is an ‘APPLE PRODUCT’. I paid nearly £1500 for the iPad and case and Ive taken great care of it. How can you keep a straight face and advise me ‘I should expect wear and tear, it’s normal’. I should just accept it; even though this ‘normal wear and tear’ has significantly affected the item’s resale value? One of the main reasons I continue to invest in apple products is that they maintain more resale value than other brands; providing they are properly maintained and handled. With respect, this is not normal wear and tear, its poor design.
