Is HomePod mini compatible with iPhone 7 Plus IOS 15.8.2?

can i play my own (home made ) music mp3s/wav/quicktime files on the HomePod mini and if so can i dump this music in the Pod and verbally call up the songs?

or do i have to always bring my iPhone near the POD

is it compatible with iPhone 7 Plus IOS 15.8.2 ?

it does not have storage you and put media into, and it can not access shared lib from your itunes / apple music lib on a desktop.

it can be used as airplay speaker playing whatever you set it to play

it can access apple music subsciption media and all itunes store purchased tied to your appleID

it can access tuneIn radio stations

so yes your iphone will have to be on the same wifi network as the homepod
