iPhone Prompts Me To Transfer Music From HomePod

How do I get music playing to transfer from HomePod back to iPhone automatically and not require me to tap a prompt? I have to stop and tap a prompt, which is really irritating. I just want it to transfer back and forth when I tap the iPhone to the HomePod like it used to. It does transfers automatically from iPhone to HomePod and doesn't prompt me as usual, but now just waits for me to tap a prompt to transfer back to the iPhone, which it never did before. How can I makes it automatic again?

Hi Razorbeam Grrl,

The following excerpt from a support article explains how this feature should function:

"To move audio from HomePod to your iOS device, hold your iPhone near the top of HomePod. On iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models, hold your iPhone near the top of HomePod, then tap Transfer to iPhone."

It would appear that iPhone 11 and 12 models require the extra step of tapping a prompt. This can be found here: Play audio on HomePod using an iOS or iPadOS device - Apple Support.
