Airpod Maxes Unresponsive

Ive had my AirPod Maxes for little less than two years, and as of last month theyve not worked whats so ever. i feel like ive tried everything yet nothing. The headphones only work on charge, and even then it will show the green LED light for a second and then fade away. Also, if I just press the noise control button, it turns white, but it won't give me the option to connect. I even tried using it as a wired connection, but still nothing. Attempting to factory reset it will show the flashing amber light, but that's it. Does anyone know what the root of the problem may be??? Getting them repaired cost almost as much the product itself and ive already spent a pretty penny on them
