Do I need a release from apple to use their emojis? I wrote the book in apple pages.

Just to add- If you're not concerned about the art style and only want the symbol, you might consider using an open-source emoji design such as OpenMoji. They're not copyrighted, though you will have to attribute them.
Apple emojis are copyrighted so it would be better to reach out to them first
