Watch 3 not displaying sleep stages

Hello, I have an  Watch 3 running WatchOS 8.8.1


I was checking this thread, where someone has the same issue, it’s however locked now: Apple watch is not tracking sleep stages … - Apple Community


To my understanding, the sleep stages have been displayed to them, but it stopped for some unknown reasons? Or I got it wrong?


As according to  Support, you do require at least Watch OS 9 (and above) for this feature, otherwise you get the sleep duration only. Watch 3 doesn’t go above WatchOS 8. 🤷‍♂️


Could anyone please clarify?

That's correct, watchOS 8 just offers the basic data for sleep tracking:
