If you subscribe to Apple Music, you will need your music to be matched or uploaded when using iCloud Music library. Use Sync Library with your Apple Music subscription – Apple Support (UK)

If you don’t use Apple Music, see Sync music between your Mac and iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support (UK)
