Unable to use Face ID on my iPhone as it works intermittently
Face ID asking for passcode majority of the time now. Funny how I just paid it off and it’s doing that.

As for “anyone having the issue” the answer is always yes, someone somewhere will have a similar issue. That does not mean there’s a bug to be dealt with.
You could be experiencing a hardware issue. First try removing and then re-entering your appearances for Face Id. If that doesn't work then your next stop would be an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider for testing and diagnosis.
