A huge message came across my MacBook screen telling me my Mac has been infected and to call Apple at 1-877-** for Apple Security and Support. How can I tell if it’s true or a Scam?

It is a scam presented by criminals. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Close the offending page and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising tactics.

Definitely a scam.

Generally speaking, fake messages do not have your full name or some data that let you think that the sender knows you. If you belong to a company, you should contact your security area for further information.
