Closing all open tabs in Safari on an iphone14 Pro

All I’ve found so far is “Hold down the tabs button on the bottom right. When the popup menu appears select “close all tabs “.

The problem is that option doesn’t appear on the menu.

Why is it when you already have 500 tabs open that when you open a link it opens in safari but, when you close the new tab the number of tabs goes down? No way of telling if it’s closed a previous tab as it doesn’t appear when you hold down the plus sign for recently closed tabs? So where did the extra tab actually go? thanks

Ios - safari clear history - close tabs question There is a bug since a few releases. It just annoys me a lot. I have the habit of clearing cookies often using these steps. iphone - ios: “settings - safari - clear history and browsing data”. Even if you have closed all browser tabs, this task *always* prompts you to answer “do you also want to close tabs”. Can’t the browser detect if there are tabs open and if none simply don’t show this popup?

Just to be certain you’re doing this correctly:

Pressing and holding the button shown by the arrow here should reveal “Close All [N] Tabs” as shown.
