Chrome does cause overheating of Mac laptops

Go into Chrome Settings > Performance and turn off these three settings: Memory, Power, Speed and the overheating will stop. My 2017 and 2016 MacBook Pros were over heating and the battery would discharge rapidly. After turning off the three mentioned settings, the overheating and battery rapid discharging has stopped - at least for now.

Thanks leroydouglas. Even after turning off the three Chrome settings mentioned in my previous comments there were times when Chrome still demonstrated a tendency to want to overheat things, but not to the degree it had previously.

Continuing my inquiry into this overheating and battery discharge issue I switched from Chrome and instead started accessing my gmail and doing Google searches through Safari. It's been several days since then and there has been no indications of overheating, a racing fan or a rapidly discharging battery. I am wondering if Google has an explanation for all of this..

Chrome has always been identified as a resource hog.
