MacBook Air randomly overheats while browsing

Some days ago I bought my first MacBook but I realized that it randomly overheated while I was browsing. I can't understand the reason and I don't have any sketchy apps installed ~only Arc Browser, Framer, Roblox Studio and Roblox~. Can anyone help?


Model: Macbook Air 15 Inch, M3, 16 GB RAM

You can check Activity Monitor for high resource usage. Start by opening Activity Monitor and regularly monitoring the CPU, Memory, and Energy tabs to identify any processes or apps that are consuming excessive resources, which could lead to overheating.


It’s a good practice to keep an eye on these metrics during your normal usage, especially when running multiple apps or performing intensive tasks. If you notice a particular app consistently using a lot of resources, consider closing it when not in use or finding an alternative that is less demanding.

Apps Making a Mac Overheat:


A. Remove All Login Items:

  1. Go To: System Preferences
  2. Click: Users & Groups
  3. Click: [your Username]
  4. Click: Login Items
  5. Remove: all items


B. Force Quit All Apps and Relaunch Finder:

Save what need be, if possible, and then close all apps and relaunch Finder.

  1. Go To: Finder Menu
  2. Select: Force Quit...
  3. Select: an Item
  4. Click: Force Quit button
  5. Click: Force Quit button
  6. Select: Finder
  7. Click: Relaunch button
  8. Click: Relaunch button
