Unable to connect my iPad to my TV via AirPlay

I have my iPad connected to the same network as the tv but when I try to connect to the tv I don’t get any options to connect with

Are you certain that your TV supports Apple AirPlay?

Are you trying to use a TV directly or an Apple TV? If you're trying to connect to the TV directly then make sure the TV support Apple AirPlay, and if it does, you might want to check with the manufacture's instructions to make sure that it's prepared to connect.

If you are using AppleTV then you should be able to just select it when you're trying to do AirPlay and it will show up after entering the codes and things that may pop up when you're trying to set it up.
