• Any purpose in any country or territory that is subject to economic sanctions administered and enforced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), or with any person or entity subject to these sanctions; or

• Paying any debts to us.

If your Account is used for any Transaction not permitted by this Agreement, we will treat these Transactions as Purchase Transactions for purposes of applying interest, and you are responsible for these Transactions and any related interest or Daily Cash Adjustments.>>

Two things that frequently get account owners in trouble are cryptocurrency and other cash equivalents such as excessive gift card purchases. The other purchase is marijuana. Even though some states have legalized various uses, the federal government has not and banks are federally regulated. There are other potential purchases that violate the Terms & Conditions, but those are the most common.

Banks don’t have to explain why they don’t want you as a customer any more. In fact, in some cases the Bank Secrecy Act actually prohibits bank personnel from discussing the matter. So, if Apple Card support said they can’t tell, they literally aren’t allowed to.
