I got an Apple security alert when using a game. Is this a scam?
should i delete the game app (wordscapes) that i was using onto which this popped up ?

Yes it is a scam. The app was paid to serve up that ad to you. There is no harm in continuing to use the app if you wish. You do have several options:
Always be aware that these are just ads and never install any software they suggest or call a phone number that may be provided. This is not specific to WordScapes as you may also see these in other apps and simply browsing the web.
Whether you want to delete the game is up to you. But yes, that is a scam and should be ignored. They just want to scare you into buying services/tools you don't need for viruses you don't have. There is literally NO WAY anyone can scan your phone remotely to see there are viruses on it. And there are NO KNOWN iPhone viruses to begin with.
It’s a pretty common ad.
It’s designed to scare you into buying useless software or a useless VPN service.
