The MacBook Pro a1398 trackpad suddenly not working I reset all settings but it’s not working and check button is working any solution

If it is the 2015 model and both the Keyboard & Trackpad stop working at the same time, then most likely the Trackpad IPD Flex Cable is bad and needs replaced which is a very common failure for the 2015 model (all other things being equal).


If only the Trackpad is not working (2012-2015), then try booting into Safe Mode just in case you have some third party software issue. Or try Option Booting by holding the Option key immediately after the startup chime...see if the Trackpad can be used on the Apple boot picker menu. If the Trackpad works here, then you may only have a software or configuration issue within macOS.


Also try using an external USB mouse as well to make sure the laptop is not frozen even when testing cursor movement when Option Booting. If the wired USB mouse also does not work, then most likely you have a hardware issue with the laptop.


FYI, you can get the exact model of the Mac by clicking the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac" (use an external mouse/trackpad if necessary to navigate), or you can enter the system serial number on the check coverage page here:
