If the shared note shows as "Invited" after being shown to you as a colored circle then it is deleted by them. See the Pic below which is self-explanatory.

Troubleshooting '— was added to the note':

Either "—" is the name you have assigned to them as a contact name, or the name is not assigned. There may be com chargers that are unrecognized. I would also suspect that the name just not longer exists.
