Can I use an Apple Watch with my iPhone XR?

Hi, I’m wanting to buy and Apple Watch with GPS and not sure if I will be able to use it with my iPhone XR. Do you have to be on a certain network or would it work with any network?

iPhone XR can run iOS 17, so you are good to go.

the gps only apple watch is obvious to the cellular network it just needs a Bluetooth or wifi connection to the iphone
