Screen recording takes up too much space, when I record screen for 60 minutes, it takes up 10 GB, how to fix it

Screen recording is at the screen resolution. New iPhones have higher resolution than older screens. If you just want to record the screen at lower resolution, hence smaller file sizes, use an older iPhone like an iPhone 7 or earlier. Screen recording is available from iOS 11 forward, so just pickup an older iPhone and you’re all set.


There are third party apps that will lower the resolution of the recordings or offer higher compression or both, but that’s achieved after the video is fully recorded.
