I researched this issue, but have not found a solution. It doesn't click and doesn't grab text like it used to.
I tried adjusting preferences, turning the trackpad off and on again, removing it from bluetooth and re-adding it, and rebooting my system numerous times. Thanks in advance for tips on how to fix this.

Looks like a BT connection issue. Does it work perfectly when wired? Can you test it on another Mac? What other devices are there BT and USB?
I would schedule in-store repair. They’ll check it out for free.
Is the magic trackpad sitting on a flat solid surface?
Does the magic trackpad work connected to a different Mac?
Does a generic USB or a wireless mouse work properly with your iMac?
