CarPlay calendar does not open location

When I open the calendar in CarPlay, it used to give me the option to click on the location and Apple Maps would open automatically, stopped working.

still shows the address but now have to manually open maps and put in address.

Mapping from Appointments in CarPlay Calendar is useless I rely on Apple Calendar, Maps and CarPlay in my day to day work. Perplexingly, when I pull up a Calendar appointment in CarPlay - even one that HAS A FULLY FORMED ADDRESS LOCATION - most times, CarPlay will NOT allow me to map that location. I can see it, right there in front of me: CarPlay is displaying the address on the screen, but it won't let me tap it to map a route! This forces me to grab my phone and fiddle with it while driving, which is dangerous. Honestly, this is such an obvious use case, I'm confused by the lack of attention to it. I prefer to avoid the Google ecosystem and stick with Apple's native apps, but this is an example of Apple penalizing people like me, who are constantly navigating to different, new addresses to as part of our work lives.

CarPlay keeps incorrectly showing Google Maps in my side panel, when Apple Maps should be the default Siri couldn't provide the Thanksgiving destination of a restaurant so I opened Google Maps to find it. Since 11/28/24 I can't change the side panel or default map back to Apple Maps. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Maps not showing all recent destinations It only shows recent searches made on Apple Maps but if I click on an address from another app, the calendar for example, and then I click cancel, it acts as if that never happened. It should show in recents. It was the last destination shown. Apple Maps has a lot of little details like this that make it counter intuitive and it’s very frustrating.
