Don't pause after saying "Siri" and it won't respond with "uh huh". You do not need to wait for it to be activated and the phrase will be processed fine if you say it in one fluid sentence without pausing.

This is most noticeable for people who have used other Assistants that needed to pause after the activation phrase for it to recognize the command. With Siri, this pause is not needed.

You do that simply by NOT pausing after you say "hey Siri." If you simply ask a question without pausing, Siri won't say uh huh. It's really no different than saying your friends name, and pausing. Your friend may say acknowledge you by saying uh huh or what waiting for you to complete your thought. That's exactly what Siri is doing.

Example:

Hey Siri, then pause

Siri: Uh Huh

What's the outside temperature right now

Siri: It's currently 77 degrees

OR:

Hey Siri what's the outside temperature right now

Siri: It's currently 77 degrees

Stop Siri saying: uh-huh or "umhmm"!
