How do I fix startup problems on my Mac?

Mac startup and once booted are very slow. I have gone through all the steps Apple suggests when your computer is running slow, so my question is after going through all those steps and nothing helping, what is wrong with my computer when none of the trouble shooting options making a difference? I am using a 21.5-inch, 8GB RAM, 1TB Storage, 3.6GHz Intel Core i3 from 2019 running on macOS Sonoma 14.5.
