M1 Macbook pro Max - Your System has run out of application memory

Hi there,

I'm suddenly having an issue after buying an M1 Macbook pro max with 32GB ram and 1TB data(currently have over 500mb free)

I've had a look at the memory pressure when the issue occurs and i don't understand why it's staying low and on green and then suddenly going red. You can see from my screenshot. It hasn't ever gone higher or into the yellow, just straight to red. I'm running projects which would have had no issues on my last mac(2014 macbook)

Any insights would be much appreciated!

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

Wow.

That looks like a report from a Mac that's not ben restarted in months, but your was restarted within the hour the test was done. Curious.

This appears to be the biggest issue:

Top Processes Snapshot by CPU:

Process (count) CPU (Source - Location)

auvaltool (4) 309.00 % (Apple) ⚠️

Logic Pro X 51.98 % (Apple)

WindowServer 19.88 % (Apple)

Google Chrome Helper (Renderer) (43) 9.86 % (Google LLC)

EtreCheckPro 9.36 % (Etresoft, Inc.)

I googled the process and found hits reporting trouble with it as far back as 2012. It is an Apple process that seems related to Logic Pro X, and has crashed in your computer before:

Diagnostics Information (past 60 days):

2024-04-29 16:11:07 auvaltool Crash (4 times) ⚠️

Executable: /usr/bin/auvaltool

Details:

libsystem_c.dylib: abort() called

Google Chrome is not doing you any favors when you look at at your Activity Monitor report, but the immediate problem looks like a Logic Pro issue

I strongly suggest you repost in the Logic Pro forum section, as this appears to be an app issue, not a hardware fault in your Macbook Pro
