Removing items from "allow in the background" list on mac
I want to remove items from this list, not just turn them off. can't see how to do that.

Have a complete and current backup. Always. Especially now. But always.
Easiest: Remove the apps involved. That should clean this.
More effort, clean out the associated directories in following areas:
In Finder, the Command-Shift-. toggle controls viewing or hiding hidden files, which will make navigating to and viewing these files easier in Finder. Or use Terminal app and the command line.
With macOS 14, other locations are permissible, so you might not see the involved files in these directories.
What adverse effects this removal will have on the apps associated?

If you want to remove them, remove the app that is associated with the item on the list
Easier said than done, like with Microsoft Auto Update. But thanks for trying to help. I did get a more detailed reply from a MRHoffman.
