some times when I try to send an email with my hotmail email from my iphone, it pops up with a screen that says this username or password for iCloud is incorrect and won’t send. I go to settings and re-type in my password and it still won’t send

Each email account has 2 instances of a username and password; one for incoming email, and one for outgoing email. When you change a password you must change it in both places. Or:
