Unable to add google account to Mac Mail

While trying to add my google account to Mac Mail, which I had removed some months back, I am unable to do so as it keeps on displaying to try again later due to failed authentication. Any help?!

Today, there was a problem with the gmail account and after troubleshooting for a while, I ultimately choose to delete and reload. However, I cannot reload. Every time I click on google account, it now says "Authentication Failed. Failed to authenticate with google please try later." macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 has created Mail accounts to stop working The Mail app on my MBP with Sonoma 14.1.2 has created an issue with my Gmail account and it no longer functions with the computer. I get requests for the password used for the Gmail account and I have put it in the box only to get the message "unable to verify address or password" and this keeps happening. I tried to change the password, but it doesn't seem to change anything. I have gone to Google Mail to see it anything has changed at their end, but could not find any changes. When I go to google and select Mail, I can get all of my messages with no problems. It's just when I try to use Gmail in the Mail App on the Mac, it will not resolve the issue I'm having with Gmail. My @iCloud/Mac/Me (which apparently are the same), account works fine. I would like to get back to using the Mail app that comes with this Mac, as it has many more features that using my mail account at the google site. Can someone from the community please help?

Trouble adding Gmail to Mac Mail Running High Sierra on i7 iMac. I had previously added my Gmail mail account through 'internet accounts' and was successful. Had to change my Gmail password and Mac Mail asked me for my new password. Entered the password and received notice that either account or password wasn't recognized. Deleted my Gmail account and tried to add it through 'internet accounts' as I did before. No luck. I've tried changing networks, restarting the computer, waiting a couple of days. Nothing has worked. Anybody have a suggestion?

1) Safari > Settings > Privacy Tab > Advanced Settings > Uncheck all the checked boxes under "Privacy:"

2) Go back to mail app and add accounts normally.

3) Go back to step one but re-check the boxes that were unchecked.
