Drag copy the same value in Numbers

You're talking about things like dates or text with a number after it that auto-increment from a single cell? I wish it wouldn't do that, I wish it did like it does with plain numbers where you need two or more cells to set the pattern. It has burned me more than once. I do not know of a way to stop it except using copy/paste or using two cells to create a pattern (a pattern of it not changing).
