Siri does not respond on MacBook Pro Mid 2019 running OS 14.4.1

I use Siri sparingly, but today I wanted to, and it did not respond at all to any of the prompts, i.e., voice, key combination, etc. I checked the system settings to ensure the microphone was responding and the Siri preferences were set right. Everything checked out. I then disabled Siri for a few minutes and restarted it. Nothing. Then, I rebooted the MacBook, but still nothing. Finally, I canned the apple.siri.plist and rebooted, but it did not help either.

I'm at a loss here. I've tried everything I could think of, but Siri is still unresponsive. Could you please guide me on what I might be missing or doing wrong?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

I did everything as mentioned in the article. I did get Siri to respond to written requests, but it remains deaf to my spoken requests. I checked the microphone (built-in), and it responds to my voice. I don't understand what is happening here, but Siri is somehow damaged. Can I reload Siri without going through an entire reboot of 14.4.1?

I see no large scale Siri outage on the server— this is not to say there are not some localized issues. Apple likes to keep the green dot active.

I would simply try back again in hours or days and compare your results, before I reinstalled the entire macOS on top of your existing macOS

How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

rebooting is one thing, shutting down completely and restarting is advised if there is a bigger issue.

the general advise —Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

if you want to To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.

Login and test. Reboot  as normal and test.  Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
