People face recognition - On device? Gone wrong with a Macbook.
I love and use the Photos app for the "People" feature on my iphone for years.
Love it, and the accuracy has been amazing.
I finally got on the Macbook wagon (halo brand effect) with an M2 Macbook Pro a month ago -
and since then - The face recognition has been absolutely garbage for kids.
My one year old daughter is getting confused with my 6 year old nephew more than she's been flagged as herself.
And then to a lesser extent, my one year old blue eyed red headed daughter is getting tagged as my four year old brown eyed, brown haired niece.
So - How can I carry on using Photo on my Macbook, without it doing the facial recognition?
How do I report this issue to Apple?
I've gone through picture by picture for hundreds of photos trying to say "this is not my daughter" one by one on my iPhone, and in bulk on the Macbook.
(It's infuriating not to be able to do this in bulk on the iPhone).
But even if I have renamed a photo to the correct child, it comes back as the nephew.
I've got the conclusion that the face recognition is now on device, rather than in the cloud, and that the software on MacOS is rubbish compared to the iPhone.
But what do I do about it?
